Here is our schedule (partial) for next weekend's road trip.....

Les Smith and I will each be taking 6 boys with us. We intend to leave mid-afternoon on Thursday, weather permitting.

THURSDAY NIGHT IN TRURO: Depending upon what time we depart Summerside and what time our game is, we will either head to the Comfort Inn in Truro or directly to the school - Central Colchester Junior High.

FRIDAY - HEADING TO BRIDGEWATER: On Friday we will depart Truro and head to Hebbville Academy, just outside of Bridgewater for a 1:00 game against Hebbville Academy in front of their students. We will go directly to the school. Take route 102 to Halifax and just past Bayers' Lake, turn toward Peggy's Cove / South Shore on route 103. Follow to exit 14 and exit left toward Hebbville. The school is ahead on the right. When we head to the hotel, we go back to the 103 and back-track to exit 12. Turn right, heading toward town and the Comfort Inn is ahead on the right.

Final tournament results and a couple days off.

Here are the final results from the Stonepark tournament.
Astral Drive defeated Whitney Pier to take gold.
Queen Charlotte beat Stonepark to take bronze.
Pugwash beat East Wiltshire for 5th.

After 4 games in a 22 hour span, the boys should be tired. We are not on the court again until Tuesday, so please take advantage of the opportunity to rest, Sunday and Monday. The remainder of the week will be a busy one as we prepare for our Mahone Bay trip. Details are in the post below.

Another Weekend ... Another Tournament

Next weekend, we will be heading to Mahone Bay, NS for the 2011 Buccaneer Classic, an 8-team championship-style tournament featuring some very competitive Nova Scotia teams. How we do in our first game determines when we play the rest of our games; winners go to the championship bracket, losers to the consolation side. The quarter final schedule is as follows:

A great weekend

Great job boys! This was a fantastic weekend of basketball for us. Some close games from which to learn and a massive improvement from our first contest with Bayview. In November, we lost by 25 points. In January, we narrow the gap to 2 points. Games like those we had this weekend against Truro and Bayview allow us to see our vulnerabilities and give us the opportunity to address them. The boys should be very proud of their effort and realize that hard word really does bring results.
