"Ask me to play. I'll play. Ask me to shoot. I'll shoot. Ask me to pass. I'll pass. Ask me to steal, block out, sacrifice, lead, dominate. ANYTHING. But it's not what you ask of me. It's what I ask of myself. ~ LeBron James."

Back Home
The boys played very well this afternoon, taking the bronze medal in a match that our posts dominated, scoring more than half our points. Game MVP was JJ with 20 points, followed by James with 15. The final score was 71-40. Great job boys. we're all very proud of your effort on and off the court.
We're playing for Bronze...
The boys hit the floor at 10:00 this morning against New Glasgow. After a tight first quarter, they pulled away in the second leading to a final score of 69 - 28. Game MVP was Colin with 26 pts, followed by Ty with 13. Everybody saw good floor time and made a contribution to our win. This puts us in the Bronze medal game at 3:00 - we are looking forward to a competitive match. I will keep you posted with the results and travelling time.
PLANS FOR SATURDAY
This morning we will be playing against the New Glasgow Panthers, as scheduled. Our expectations are that we will likely be in the 3rd place game this afternoon, as long as the boys come out to play like they can this morning. That would put us back on the court at 3:00, and on the road to PEI between 4:30 - 5:00. If things turn out differently, we'll keep you posted.
Thanks,
Scott

A Tough Outing Tonight
Just back to the hotel from the gym. The boys played hard against a very big, aggressive and fast team. We held close until halftime, but their shooting percentage soared in the second half en route to a 63-38 Bayview victory. Game MVP, Ty and Colin led the way with 13 points apiece. Defensively, we played a very determined game (3 charges), but we were a little sloppy on the offensive end. We will be facing this team again in January in Mahone Bay, so I am looking forward to seeing how the team grows. By the way, the boys are being well-behaved at the hotel.....rest easy.

A good start to the season
Well, we now have our first game under our belt and a win to show for it. All 12 players were able to make a contribution to last night's game and help us come away with a 30-point victory. It was a great chance to see our gameplay prior to this weekend's tournament in Nova Scotia, and allows us to make some changes heading into Friday evening's game against Bayview. The first game of the year is always pretty nerve-wracking for most players but I thought everyone put in a focused effort. This weekend's games, without the added pressure of a home crowd, will allow us to continue our development as a team and to learn exactly what strengths and weaknesses we possess.
Thanks for your support.

PLANS FOR THIS WEEKEND
As previously mentioned, the team will be paying for transportation and hotels. The boys will need money for food (Saturday's breakfast is complimentary at the hotel).
We expect to depart Summerside on Friday afternoon at 1:30. The boys should be at SIS, and ready to go at this time. They should also have a good lunch before we leave. Once we arrive in New Glasgow, we will check into the hotel, and grab a quick bite at Subway; this usually gives us a healthy option for the boys. We will then head to the gym to watch the game prior to ours. Following our game, we will make a stop at Sobeys so the boys can grab a snack to take back to the hotel. The boys will be in their rooms by 10:00 and lights out will tentatively be 11:00. If they leave their rooms overnight, they will not play on Saturday (and we will know if they do).
On Saturday, we will get up, have breakfast and head to the gym for our game vs New Glasgow. We will have some time to kill on Saturday with the skills competition at 12:45 and our final game at a time yet to be determined. We will probably just spend our time between the mall and watching the other games. Immediately following our final game, we will hit the road. The website will be updated to indicate our approximate arrival time back in Summerside.
Thank you for your support.
